Intention Venture Capital was formed based on a common vision to solve problems in startups & small businesses inside the vc space which too often lead to failures or add risks to the overall success. This desire to empower the mission oriented founders properly & even further with more tools, resources, & in better aligned structures & incentives to the original vision & mission will ultimately improve the success rate of founders & their companies through eliminating choke points, better governance, & a structure that can better overcome all kinds of adversity to carry on to survive.

Parvinder Shergill
Based in Toronto, Canada was raised in the UK where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Law & Marketing. She also holds a CPA and an MBA in International Business that saw her study in France.
Parvinder wields her over two decades financial leadership expertise and a wealth of international experience serving start-ups to big corporations in the private sector including Microsoft, Kraft and KPMG. She is also the founder of a successful e-commerce business selling products manufactured in Canada, which is where she discovered her entrepreneurial spirit and the value of collaboration—key elements that she brought to her approach with her Blue Canyon clients.
With a focus on start-ups, combining her financial and cultural know-how with a neuroscience-based approach, not only did she inspire teams, she worked with the engines that drive them—the CEOs and C-suite leaders responsible for setting the tone for their companies. Parvinder worked with companies and C-suite leaders to gain clarity on core values and to formulate a strategy towards their highest vision, while valuing its greatest resource—people.
Working with start-ups that were funded by venture capitalists, she experienced and understood the root cause of the why 90% of Venture Capital backed companies failed. Millions of dollars were being funnelled to businesses that looked great on paper with little to no attention beyond the numbers. There was zero governance for the funds and little to no guidance and support was provided to the executive team.
Alignment and accountability were key components that appeared to vanish within the company once venture capital was received. An executive team is the foundation of the company, a strong executive team that is aligned and accountable lays a solid foundation for exponential growth.
Parvinder’s desire to work more with Venture Capitalists to help improve the rate of failure led to her bold move of forming her own Venture Capital firm, bringing together a team of like-minded experts. This provides her with the freedom to create structures that can serve start-ups and provide them with the tools and support to help them succeed. She aspires to “shake up” the industry and create structures that motivate the leadership team and not heavily skewed to the venture capitalists.
